Family/Child Development Mentoring:

Home Consultations:
Parents often wish someone could see how difficult their child is at home and help them think how they can make things better.
A trained home-consultant teaches parents proven techniques that are fun and useful in day-to-day living and to develop interaction with their child using video-guidance and practical suggestions.

    * Together we observe what the child does
    * at home to see what happens in the family on a daily basis, so we can try to
    * understand what is going on in the child's mind and
    * discuss where the child is developmentally (physical, intellectual,              
       emotional, social) and
    * think about what this child needs from his/her parents and environment to
       develop well, so we can then
    * plan practical small tasks, e.g. boundaries, appropriate toys/ storage,
       structure, diet, how to promote joint attention, etc.

My approach to challenging and/or autistic behaviours differs from other prevalent approaches in that its focus is on understanding the individual child within the complex emotional dynamics of its family-context and on empowering parents as the most important agents for change in their child’s development and behaviour.

Please note that We are based in Tower Hamlets (London) and normally work with families in the Greater London area, Oxford and Reading in the United Kingdom. We will travel to other areas by arrangement.
